Morris “Rick” Beato, PT, DPT

Dr. Morris “Rick” Beato is the Director of the University of Central Florida (UCF) & Orlando Health Neurologic Residency Program. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UCF’s School of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences in Orlando, FL. Beato is a board-certified specialist in both neurologic and geriatric physical therapy. Dr. Beato is has 25 years of clinical experience in neurology and geriatrics. He has presented in different types of polyneuropathies including CIDP. Beato is a previous Chair of the Neurologic and Geriatric Specialty Council of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Dr. Beato is a recipient of the outstanding educator and residency mentor awards from the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, the Florida Physical Therapy Association, and  the Academy of Physical Therapy Education. He has has been published in peer reviewed journals including Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, and Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy. He has presented internationally, nationally, and regionally on neurological and geriatric rehabilitation.
