To acknowledge and honor a Student Physical Therapist Assistant who exhibits superior scholastic achievement and has made significant contributions to the professional organization and promotion of physical therapy.

  • Demonstrated involvement in a FPTA/APTA meetings and advocacy events (district meeting, state or national conference, capital hill day, etc) as well as significant contributions to FPTA/APTA – (e.g. speaking to other students about the benefits of belonging).
  • Nominee must be in good academic standing at their University (program director or faculty advisor provides letter)
  • Demonstrated a commitment and involvement in the promotion of physical therapy and community service (e.g. organizing or participating in community events such as PT Month).
  • Demonstrated leadership amongst peers.

  • The nominator is responsible for submitting a letter of support and the following documents
  • One letter from a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant supporting the strengths of the nominee in relation to award criteria
  • One letter from a CAPTE accredited University/College faculty member or program director speaking to the academic excellence of the student
  • Curriculum Vitae/Resume of the candidate
  • Submission Deadline: June 30th

An award will be presented to the recipients at the FPTA Annual Conference Honors and Awards ceremony.
