We are proud to introduce an outstanding lineup of speakers and presenters for this year’s conference. These professionals bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for physical therapy. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will provide engaging, educational, and thought-provoking continuing education (CE) courses designed to inspire and elevate your practice.

Tobi Baldwin, PT, DPT, EdD

Tobi Baldwin, PT, DPT, EdD is Program Director and Associate Professor at South College – Pittsburgh, where she brings over 25 years of integrated clinical and academic expertise. A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, Dr. Baldwin has devoted her career to advancing physical therapist education, with focused expertise in clinical reasoning, competency-based curricular design, and formative assessment. Her scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications and national presentations on clinical reasoning, curricular innovation, and assessment in physical therapist education. Her academic work spans large-scale curricular reform, accreditation leadership at the institution level, and the development of frameworks supporting the Master Adaptive Learner. She also maintains active clinical practice as a PRN physical therapist in outpatient orthopaedics.

Morris “Rick” Beato, PT, DPT

Dr. Morris “Rick” Beato is the Director of the University of Central Florida (UCF) & Orlando Health Neurologic Residency Program. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UCF’s School of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences in Orlando, FL. Beato is a board-certified specialist in both neurologic and geriatric physical therapy. Dr. Beato is has 25 years of clinical experience in neurology and geriatrics. He has presented in different types of polyneuropathies including CIDP. Beato is a previous Chair of the Neurologic and Geriatric Specialty Council of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Dr. Beato is a recipient of the outstanding educator and residency mentor awards from the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, the Florida Physical Therapy Association, and  the Academy of Physical Therapy Education. He has has been published in peer reviewed journals including Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, and Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy. He has presented internationally, nationally, and regionally on neurological and geriatric rehabilitation.

Beato

Kymberli Able-Brown, PT, DPT

Dr. Kymberli Able-Brown is a licensed physical therapist specializing in pelvic health. She received her doctorate at Hampton University in Hampton, VA and spent the first two years of her career as a travel physical therapist. During this time she was able to work and be mentored by various PTs in the home health care, outpatient, and pediatric settings.

Dr. Able-Brown was introduced to pelvic health during her pregnancy with her youngest son when she sustained an acetabular labral tear that required surgical repair. During her rehabilitation process, her PT encouraged her to look into transferring from acute care to outpatient pelvic health. Since her transfer in January of 2024, she has completed all course work for CAPP-Pelvic and CAPP-Obstetrics, with plans to become a Board Certified Women’s Health Specialist. Dr. Able-Brown is a wife and mother of two boys. In her spare time she enjoys crafting projects, traveling, and serving with her church community.

Martha Bloyer, PT, DPT

Dr. Martha Bloyer received a BS ’94, MS ’99 in Physical Therapy from Florida International University (FIU) and her Pediatric Certified Specialization (PCS) in 2008 from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties with recertification in 2018. She obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Utica College, New York in 2010. In 2015, she joined the faculty at the University of Miami (UM) Department of Physical Therapy, is Program Coordinator for Education for the UM–Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Pediatric Residency Program and is faculty/clinician at the Mailman Center for Child Development, Department of Pediatrics.

She has served in various roles in the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA) and for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Clinically she has practiced in Early Intervention, Miami Dade County Public Schools, outpatient pediatrics, and home health environments. She currently continues to practice by providing examination and treatments at the UM-Mailman Center for Child Development and privately in the home environment.

Research interests include studies with children with disabilities, transition of healthcare, inter-professional education and collaborations, simulation in education and clinical education.

Stefanie Bond

Stefanie Bond, PT, DPT, GCS is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy with extensive experience in clinical practice and academia. She is an adjunct faculty member at multiple institutions, including the University of South Florida and Graceland University, where she teaches courses in geriatric and neurologic physical therapy. Clinically, she leads specialized programs in osteoporosis and ALS rehabilitation. Dr. Bond has contributed to professional publications and presentations, advocating for evidence-based geriatric care. She remains actively involved in professional organizations and mentorship, shaping the next generation of physical therapists while promoting excellence in aging adult rehabilitation.

Hannah Bynum, PT, DPT, CLT

Hannah Bynum, PT, DPT, CLT, is a licensed physical therapist specializing in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema management at AdventHealth’s Oncology and Lymphedema Clinic, where she has served since 2025. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Central Florida and obtained her Certified Lymphatic Therapist (CLT) credential through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy in 2025 as well. Hannah’s clinical interests include oncology care, lymphatic system development, and advancing educational pathways that support the transition from student to practicing clinician within the oncology and lymphatic specialty.

Meredith Chaput, PT

Dr. Meredith Chaput is a residency trained, Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy and Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida. She has a PhD in Translational Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis in Clinical Neuroscience. Her research examines the the effects an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction on brain plasticity and specifically addresses the role of visual-attention as a compensation mechanism for motor control.

Jamie Dyson, PT, DPT, has been an acute care physical therapist for over 30 years, specializing in trauma and burn care in intensive care units. He is both a Basic and Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the APTA. Practicing at HCA Lake Monroe Hospital, Jamie also serves as core faculty at Graceland University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He earned his BS in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University and his t-DPT from A.T. Still University.

Dr. Dyson’s accolades include the Signe Brunnstrom Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching (2013), the FPTA Fred Rutan Award for Outstanding Service (2017), and the APTA Lucy Blair Service Award (2021). He is a member of the APTA Acute Care Practice Committee and serves on the CAPTE Board of Directors. Additionally, he served as a mentor for the APTA Leadership Scholars program and is actively involved with the Florida Physical Therapy Association, having served as Chapter President and currently as Delegate.

Thomas Eberle, PT, MSPT, DPT

Thomas Eberle PT, MSPT, DPT has published multiple peer review research focused on therapeutic exercise in orthopedic populations and has published an orthopedic manual for the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic pathologies. Dr. Eberle is certified in Kinematic Taping, certified in Dry Needling, and has presented hundreds of research and educational lectures nationally and internationally. Dr. Eberle is the immediate Past-President for Florida Physical Therapy Association and is an active Fellow in AAOMPT.

Currently, Dr. Eberle is an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine, teaching orthopedic physical therapy. Dr. Eberly also teaches continuing education courses for his company, the Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FIOMPT) and practices clinically at Pursuit Physical Therapy in Orlando. He enjoys cooking and traveling with his wife Casey and daughters Alex and Aria.

Ashlyn Garcia, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA

Ashlyn Garcia, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA, is a dedicated physical therapist specializing in lymphatic and oncology rehabilitation. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2021 and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy in 2022. Since then, she has been part of AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab, where she serves as a lymphatic and oncology physical therapist committed to advancing the field of oncology rehabilitation and advocating for cancer survivors. In addition to her clinical work, Ashlyn is her organization’s lymphatic program clinical ambassador member, where she contributes to projects aimed at expanding and enhancing the specialty program. She is also passionate about education and advocacy in oncology rehabilitation. She has served as a guest speaker for the Christina Phipps Foundation’s oncology yoga continuing education course, a guest lecturer on oncology rehabilitation for AdventHealth University, and has assisted with hands-on lab instruction for the University of Central Florida’s lymphedema lecture.

Dafinie Garcon, PT, DPT, MS, MBA

Dr. Dafine Garcon is a licensed physical therapist specializing in pelvic health. After several years in pediatric physical therapy, she transitioned to pelvic health in 2024, treating both men and women with bladder, bowel, abdominal dysfunction, and pelvic pain conditions.

She hold advanced degrees in physical therapy, medical sciences, and business, and completing her CAPP-Pelvic and currently pursuing the CAPP-OB certifications with the ultimate goal of becoming a Board-Certified Pelvic & Women’s Health Clinical Specialist. A Florida native fluent in English and Haitian Creole, Dr. Garcon is committed to serving diverse and underrepresented populations. She is also a proud wife and mother of three active boys who enjoys family time, dancing, fitness, and travel.

Bryan Graham, MPT

Bryan Graham, MPT received his Master of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 1997. Currently, Bryan owns
and operates Oceanside Physical Therapy, an outpatient ortho/sports medicine clinic in Stuart, FL. Bryan has a clinical
interest in lower extremity pathologies and a specific specialization in non-arthritic hip pathologies/hip preservation since
2005. Bryan has been a physiotherapy member of the international organization ISHA-The Hip Preservation Society since
2014, where he serves on the Education, Patient Information, Membership and Physiotherapy Committees. Bryan has
lectured at the local, state, national and international level. Lastly, Bryan is a founding member and first president if the
Florida Hip Preservation Society, an organization made up of surgeons, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and
other medical providers with the same common goal of advancing the field of Hip Preservation through research, education, and community awareness.

Amanda Grant, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Amanda Grant is the Director of Clinical Education for the developing PT Program at Jacksonville University. Dr. Grant has practiced clinically in the outpatient orthopedic setting for the past 18 years specializing in orthopaedics and oncology. She has presented nationally on the topics of problem solving and critical thinking as it relates kinetic chain dysfunctions as well as differential diagnosis and clinical management of lymphedema. Dr. Grant earned her degree in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and is an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.

Gabriella Grezzi, PT, DPT

Dr. Gabriella Grezzi received her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons University in 2020 and 2022, respectively. She has received certifications in Pelvic Floor Therapy from Herman & Wallace Institute and has notable experience treating urinary dysfunction, pelvic pain, and pregnancy-related conditions. Her goal throughout her treatment sessions is to foster a compassionate environment where her patients feel supported and empowered to take control of their health and live their life with joy throughout their pelvic journey. In her spare time, she enjoys being an artist of the dance and painting worlds as well as traveling and trying new foods from around the world.

Bryn Hager, PT, DPT, PCS, CBIS is a Physical Therapist and Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences, as well as the Program Coordinator for USF’s Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency. She holds a DPT from Wingate University and completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Her clinical experience spans both pediatric and neurologic populations and settings. She is a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS) and Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), actively involved in research on innovative treatment approaches like cupping for spasticity management and the development of pro bono initiatives. Dr. Hager is actively involved with various components of the APTA and Special Olympics. She is committed to community service, professional leadership, and mentoring new clinicians in the field of physical therapy.

Megan’s passion is helping humans grow anti-fragile in mind, body, and spirit throughout their lifespan. Her holistic Occupational Therapy mindset draws on her experience as a life and business coach, her study of applied positive psychology, and her passion for Animal-Assisted Therapy. Megan graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University’s Occupational Therapy program in 2022 and has been working on Michelle Standard’s team at Gulf Coast Medical Center ever since. Certifications and continuing education in Animal-Assisted Therapy, Leadership Coaching, and DISC Personality have helped Megan develop an Animal-Assisted Therapy Program for adults in the acute hospital setting while conducting research to contribute to evidence-based practice. Megan continues to consult and create as a founding partner at Wild + Brave, her family’s coaching company focused on helping humans think wild thoughts and take brave actions in a hectic world. Megan is a contributor to the Pawsitive Psych Digest on Substack and her current projects include making Animal-Based Mindfulness accessible for people with pets, the application and enjoyment of Tai Chi for holistic balance, and the intersection of faith and practice.

Karyn Jarrett, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA

Karyn Jarrett PT, DPT, CLT-LANA is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncologic Physical Therapy and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist with a strong commitment to advancing cancer rehabilitation. She serves as Clinical Program Manager for Oncology and Lymphatic Therapy at AdventHealth, where she leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to evidence-based, patient-centered care. Her leadership and collaboration with lymphatic surgery colleagues recently earned their co-located clinics designation as a LE&RN Comprehensive Network Center of Excellence in Lymphatic Disease, recognizing their integrated approach to exceptional patient care. In addition to her clinical work, Karyn lectures in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Central Florida, sharing her expertise in oncology rehabilitation and lymphatic management.

Kyle Kazmier, PT, DPT

Kyle Kazmier is a steadfast student of the proximal tibiofibular joint pathology after a personal injury, leading to a 2+ year-long journey through the healthcare system to address vague lateral knee pain symptoms. Kyle is a Physical Therapist at Pt. Solutions in Flagler Beach, Florida. Kyle achieved his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2025. He obtained a Master’s degree in Human Performance: Clinical Cognate from Liberty University in 2021. Additionally, Kyle is an American College of Sports Medicine Clinical Exercise Physiologist and has worked in outpatient private practice, concierge medicine, and professional track athlete environments.

David Kembfert, PT, DPT, PhD, ATC/L, MOT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

David J. Kempfert: David J. Kempfert is a physical therapist specializing in orthopaedics, sports, and manual rehabilitation, with an emphasis on lower extremity mechanics, particularly the foot/ankle’s role in the kinetic chain. Fellowship-trained through AAOMPT and board-certified in orthopaedics and sports, he has contributed to committees within APTA, AOPT, and AAOMPT. David earned his PhD in 2022, with a research agenda focused on adaptive/maladaptive changes in soft tissue following injury/rehabilitation. His extensive clinical experience spans all levels, from youth to professional athletes. He has presented at international, national, and local conferences, and is committed to advancing evidence-based rehabilitation through clinical practice and research.

Jenna Lammers, PT, MSR

Jenna Lammers is a Pediatric Clinical Specialist and Certified Neonatal Therapist with 26 years of experience in complex care. Jenna’s clinical expertise spans NICU, PICU, CICU, early intervention, and outpatient services; she has participated in over 60 rare disease clinical trials.    Jenna founded Boost Therapeutic Innovations in 2022 to commercialize this research-based exercise product and currently supports manufacturing and knowledge translation in an unsalaried role.  In 2024 she established FUNctional Measures, LLC, a consulting organization that supports therapists and rare disease clinical trials throughout the United States and Canada.

Marcus Lattimore

Marcus Lattimore is a former Collegiate football All American and was inducted into the Southeastern Conference Legends class of 2023. He is now a spoken word artist, and creative writing teacher currently residing in Portland, Oregon. He was crowned the 2024 Grand Slam Poetry Champion and represented Oregon in the National Competition. He enjoys exploring the Wilderness of the Great Northwest with his wife Miranda when he is not performing or teaching.

Susan Lukens, PT, MS, DPT

Susan Lukens, PT, MS, DPT brings over thirty years of experience in the outpatient clinical setting, emphasizing interdisciplinary and multi-site teamwork. She has extensive expertise in fiscal and strategic planning, physician relations, and facility design and construction. Currently, as the Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation at University of Florida Health in Gainesville, Florida, she manages 16 locations and oversees a diverse range of specialties from pediatrics to geriatrics. Her role encompasses managing a multi-million-dollar budget and a wide array of multidisciplinary programs, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Fitness & Wellness, and Cardiac Rehab.
Susan’s educational background includes a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado, Health Sciences Center. She completed her transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the College of Saint Scholastica in August 2020. Additionally, she serves as the Chair of the Leadership Committee within the Academy of Leadership and Innovation of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Samantha Miller, PT, DPT

Samantha Miller PT, DPT is a physical therapist and site manager at UF Health-Medical Plaza, and she specializes in treating patients with pelvic oncology diagnoses. She graduated with her DPT from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA in 2021 and was inducted into the National Pro Bono Honor Society. She had a poster presentation at APTA’s CSM in 2022.

Delry Munoz, PT, MTC, CLT, CFC, ATRIC, DNC

Derly Munoz PT, MTC, CLT, CFC, ATRIC, DNC is a Board-Certified Specialist in Oncology Physical Therapy and physical therapist at UF Health-Medical Plaza. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Rosario University in Bogota, Colombia in 1990. She moved to the US in 1993 and completed a post-graduate Certification in Manual Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. Derly also became certified in aquatic therapy from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute. In 2012, she worked to spear head the oncology rehabilitation program at UF Health in Gainesville, Florida, and in the same year she became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. She also received a certification in Cranio-Mandibular Disorders from Mariano Rocabado in 2016. She has co-authored numerous publications on lymphedema surveillance and received The Breast Journal Award in 2015. She earned her APTA Board-Certified Specialty in Oncology in 2020. Derly also hosts a podcast called, “Taking Charge of my Cancer,” in which she interviewed numerous specialists in the field of oncology. The podcast serves as an educational tool for patients with cancer and their families.

PradeepKumar Pande, BPT, MS-PT, CSMT-COMT (UK)

PradeepKumar Pande (Kumar) – BPT, MS-PT, CSMT-COMT (UK), is an Emergency Department Physical Therapist with Lee Health in Southwest Florida and an emerging leader in the integration of physical therapy within emergency medicine. With more than 10 years of clinical experience spanning four continents and eight countries as well as over six years practicing in the Emergency Department setting, he brings a uniquely global and interdisciplinary perspective to acute care rehabilitation.

His work focuses on advancing innovative models of Emergency Department Physical Therapy that improve assistance with MD driven differential diagnosis patient safety, mobility outcomes and care transitions. He has led initiatives including PT-driven 1)appropriate outpatient PT referrals, 2)orthostatic hypotension screening and treatment, 3)early mobility assessment and 4)fall risk identification protocols designed to address functional risk factors during ED encounters. Through close collaboration with physicians/mid level providers, nurses, case managers and hospital leadership, he works to transform the ED from a point of stabilization into the starting point of recovery.

Kumar has presented on the evolving role of physical therapy in emergency care and is passionate about advancing interdisciplinary care models that reduce unnecessary healthcare utilization, enhance patient recovery, and expand the leadership role of physical therapists across hospital systems. Lastly, Kumar’s work is driven not only by clinical excellence but also by his joyful outlook and sense of humor which help foster strong interdisciplinary relationships and make complex healthcare challenges easier to solve together.

Catherine Patla, PT, DHSc, FAPTA

Catherine Patla, PT, DHSc, FAPTA is an associate professor and clinical mentor with extensive experience in physical therapy education at both entry-level and post-professional programs. Her teaching and clinical expertise focus primarily on extremity evaluation and clinical application. She has been an invited speaker at both national and international venues. Dr. Patla has been actively involved with the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA) for many years. She has served at the subdistrict level, as a delegate to the House of Delegates since 2002, as Chief Delegate from 2004 to 2006, and as Florida Chapter President from 2007 to 2009. Her research interests center on end-feel assessment and the development of clinical diagnostic skills.

Kyle Reedy is a board-certified specialist in neurologic physical therapy and works at AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab. He has been working with patients in the outpatient neurological setting since he graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2019. Kyle currently serves as Clinical Educator for AdventHealth’s Neurological Program that spans 13 centers in the Central Florida Region. His professional roles include clinical practice, mentoring, knowledge translation, development of special programs, and best practice advisory. Kyle also serves as program coordinator and an active mentor in their neurological residency program. He has given presentations at state conferences, doctoral level physical therapy programs, and clinical settings on high intensity gait training, dysautonomia, knowledge implementation projects, spinal muscular atrophy, and multiple sclerosis. Kyle is currently involved in research regarding the efficacy of using blood flow restriction to improve function in patients with multiple sclerosis.

Lisa Roberts is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida International University in Miami.  She has over 40 years of clinical experience across multiple practice settings with a specialty area in geriatric physical therapy.  As a strong patient advocate, she has been passionate about the prevention of medical errors and has been lecturing on this topic since 2007.  Having been a victim of medical error herself gives Dr. Roberts a comprehensive perspective about this important subject.

C Rothschild

Carey E. Rothschild, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Rothschild earned a Bachelor of Health Science in Physical Therapy in 1999 from the University of Florida and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2005. She is board-certified in both Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy and holds a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy. Her 25+ years of clinical practice has been in the areas of orthopedics and sports medicine. Her research interests include management of running injuries, conditions of the female athlete, pain education, and menopause. Dr. Rothschild is an avid runner, swimmer, and triathlete having completed numerous races including the Boston Marathon. She has three children who are actively engaged in all sports ranging from soccer, lacrosse, football, volleyball, track, and baseball! She was awarded the James A. Gould Excellence in Teaching Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Award in 2022. 

Zahilly Salinas, DPT

Dr. Zahilly Salinas is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is the Associate Director of Clinical Education at UM. Her 16-year clinical practice has been primarily in orthopedics and neurology with a sub specialization in vestibular rehab and concussion. She is an APTA Competency-Credentialed Vestibular Rehab Specialist and Clinical Instructor (Level 1 and 2) through APTA, as well as a CCIP Trainer. She has also been a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education in the Broward VA and UHealth hospital systems. Dr. Salinas is a faculty member and clinical mentor in the UM/JRH Residency program and holds a leadership position as the Secretary for the Florida Physical Therapy Association’s Board of Directors. She teaches and assists in several classes in the entry-level DPT curriculum at UM and loves being so actively involved in bridging entry level didactic and clinical education as well as post-professional advancement.

Daniel Sanchez, PT, CEAS

Danny Sanchez, PT, CEAS, is a Physical Therapist with more than 25 years of experience specializing in the treatment, rehabilitation, and functional restoration of injured workers. His clinical background spans outpatient orthopedics, industrial rehabilitation, on-site employee health programs, and post offer employment testing, with a consistent focus on designing work-specific, evidence-based interventions that support safe and timely return to work.

In addition to his clinical practice, Danny has extensive experience in operational leadership and clinical program development. Over the past two decades with PhysNet, where he is a founding member, he has served as Chief Physical Therapist, Vice President of Clinical Operations, and currently Senior Vice President of Operations and Clinical Services. In this role, he oversees national clinical oversight initiatives, risk stratification models, predictive analytics integration, provider quality performance, and the development of comprehensive programs that improve outcomes for injured workers across diverse settings. Kimberly Sena Moore, Ph.D., MT-BC, is Associate Director of the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she is an Associate Professor and Music Therapy Program Coordinator. Her research focuses on emotion regulation development and clinical music intervention development. She is Co-Editor of the Journal of Music Therapy and Regulatory Affairs Associate for the Certification Board for Music Therapists.

Paula Shulthiess, DPT

Dr. Paula Shulthiess earned her DPT from University of Central Florida in 2015 and is currently employed with Lee Health at Cape Coral Hospital as a staff physical therapist and Program Director for a developing acute care residency program. She began as a Lee Health Rotator and has practiced in acute care, inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, and outpatient treating many diagnoses but focusing on neurologic and vestibular patients. Dr. Shulthiess became a Neurologic Clinical Specialist in 2020 and a Geriatric Clinical Specialist in 2024. She is also certified in LSVT BIG, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR), and American Institute of Balance Vestibular and Concussion Rehab. She is an APTA Level 2 Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Dr. Shulthiess teaches as an Adjunct Professor for the Florida Gulf Coast University Physical Therapy Program and Keiser University – Fort Myers Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Dr. Shulthiess has served in many roles for the Florida Physical Therapy Association including District Chair and Secretary, Delegate, Federal Affairs Liaison, and currently Speaker of the Assembly and Assistant Chief Delegate. She was appointed to the Specialization Academy of Content Experts for Geriatrics and Neurology. For her continued service, she was awarded the 2017 FPTA Emerging Leader Award and the 2024 APTA Emerging Leader Award.

Michelle Standard, PT, DPT, MHA. Dr. Standard is a highly experienced physical therapist with 25 years in the field. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Bradley University, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica University in 2017. Dr. Standard also completed her Master’s in Healthcare Administration at LSU Shreveport in March of  2025. She is currently working towards certification as an Animal-Assisted Therapy Interventionalist.

Dr. Standard’s extensive clinical background spans sub-acute rehabilitation, home health, and primarily acute care settings. Since 2014, she has served as the Manager of Acute Rehab Services at Lee Health in Southwest Florida, where she leads a multidisciplinary team of over 80 therapists within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. Additionally, she contributes to the field as a guest lecturer annually at Florida Gulf Coast University, focusing on Empathy and Compassion in Healthcare. Her professional interests are centered on leadership and program development.

Dr. Kathy Swanick received her BS in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College and her Masters in Community Health and DPT from the Sage Graduate School in Troy NY: After moving to Fort Myers to take a faculty position at FGCU she became engaged in the FPTA having served as District Officer, Assembly Representative for the Southwest District, Regional Director, Chapter Secretary, Director of Advocacy and 2 terms as Chapter President. She was recently re-appointed to serve on the APTA Public Policy and Advocacy Committee. She has served as a Delegate for the Florida Chapter since 2007. Other Association activities include the Academy of Acute Care practice committee, participation in State and Federal Advocacy Forums, and presented at numerous State and National Conferences. She completed her board certification in Orthopedics in 2003 and re-certified in 2013. In addition to serving as a faculty member at Florida Gulf Coast University, she continues to practice in Acute Care with the Lee Health System in Fort Myers working in ICU and critical care. Dr Swanick received the APTA State Legislative Award in 2016, the Lucy Blair Service Award in 2017, and the FPTA and APTA Outstanding PT/ PTA team award in 2019.

Dr. Loren Szmiga earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine. In 2016, she achieved the Certified Hand Therapist credential. Currently, she is Faculty and Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine with a focus in teaching anatomy, examination skills, orthopedic, wellness, and research classes to DPT students. She also works in the clinic part time with patients that have hand and upper extremity musculoskeletal limitations and fabricates custom orthoses. She has a passion for teaching students and recently earned an Educational Doctorate degree with an emphasis in teaching and learning.

Bri Wyatt, PT, DPT, CSCS, CFMP is a pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapist currently serving as Director of Pelvic Health in Bonita Springs, Florida. She has a strong interest in functional and integrative medicine in addition to nutrition and how they can improve outcomes for patients with orthopedic and pelvic floor diagnoses. She is certified in pelvic health by Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute as well as Functional Medicine University as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner.

Jeremy Wydra, PT

Dr. Jeremy Wydra is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy at the University of Central Florida. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Kinesiology under the mentorship of Dr. Meredith Chaput, PhD, PT, DPT. His research utilizes mobile eye-tracking to investigate visual compensation strategies that support sport performance following ACL reconstruction. Prior to joining UCF, Jeremy worked as a strength and conditioning coach in baseball and physical therapist in a performance training center. He subsequently completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at Orlando Health.
